FTP Manager
The FTP User Manager allows you to create and manage multiple FTP users on your web site. You can assign a unique login for each FTP user and, optionally, limit their access to a specific subdirectory on your site. In this case, the user can only establish an FTP connection to the subdirectory you have specified.
You can, for example, add the user janedoe and only give her rights to the files at www.example.com/janedoe. When you add a new FTP users, you also set a quota for them. The quota for an FTP user is the maximum amount of diskspace (in megabytes) that their directory can use. This maximum diskspace cannot be no more than 5MB and should be less than your domain diskspace quota. This is cumulative.
For example, if you have three FTP users and your domain diskspace quota is 200MB, you may set any (or all) of your FTP user quotas to 195MB; however, once your actual domain diskspace exceeds 195MB, your FTP users will not be able to do anything that increases diskspace used by their home directories.
Providing FTP access to other users allows you to distribute the administrative work that is required to maintain your domain. You can assign users to specific subdirectories so that they may only update certain sections on your website; for example, you could assign a user to maintain the About Us section of an online store, located at example.com/aboutus.
You may also allow a user to create their own websites with your subdirectory (e.g., example.com.com/username).
